The green "spiderwebs" are formed by mineral inclusions (Iron and Magnesium) whilst the lava is cooling. This is an all natural occurence! Mother nature is just that epic Obsidian is a natural protector and it is said that Spiderweb Obsidian is a great crystal to do shadowwork with.
